Sunday starts sunny, but clouds will thicken today. Shower chances are small this afternoon, but rain is likely this evening as a warm front arrives.
Rainfall amounts should stay under a quarter of an inch. There might be some thunder also. Rain will be gone by the time you wake up and search for your special shades tomorrow. Our Eclipse luck is excellent. We get the warmest temps of the week, with no storms, and just high clouds, after some low morning clouds to the east.
There will be scattered high clouds in the afternoon, especially east and south of Indianapolis. So, while crystal clear skies do not appear likely, the character of the scattered to perhaps broken high cloud should be primarily thin cirrus, which should have a relatively low impact on eclipse viewing conditions. Otherwise, conditions should be a nearly ideal spring day, with highs in the low to mid 70s across the area and modest breezes. The breeze…and temps…should decrease for a bit during the eclipse!
