Just some high clouds today…and high temperatures in the 70s. It will be right around 70 in Muncie and Richmond, and the low 70s in Lafayette and Indy.
Clouds will increase tonight with the arrival of a warm front moving northward. It doesn’t appear rain will fall from those clouds. On the other side of the front tomorrow – warmer temps, and the first 80 degree day in almost exactly seven months for central Indiana. We seem to have a trend going.
FIRST 80 DEGREE DAYS IN INDY:
2013 – April 9
2012 – March 14
Tomorrow will be warmer and also windier, as gusts up to 30 mph bring the heat. We’ll also spend Thursday in the warm sector between that aforementioned front and a cold front arriving Friday. That one brings showers and storms Friday. It doesn’t look like severe weather, but there could be an inch of way, especially from Indy southward.
Showers and storms could linger into Saturday, but at the moment Sunday looks dry. Storms return Monday.
INDY ALMANAC:

Big Furm says
Hey, Mr. Poteet: Is there any correlation between the first 80-degree day (or at least the first hot day) and how hot it will be over the length of the summer? I only ask because 2012 was torrid, and we hit 80 in early March. Last summer was nicer, and we didn’t hit 80 until April. At this rate, I’m expecting a summer with average highs in the 70’s this year.
