You’ll fight fog at first today in central Indiana. Blame the recent rain, light winds, and a mostly clear sky just above the fog. Fog will be followed by a much brighter day, with milder high temps. When I say recent rain, I don’t mean a LOT of recent rain. Yesterday’s system didn’t put down much from Indy southward. Totals were higher to the north. Radar indicates up to a half inch fell around Peru. WEDNESDAY RAIN .19″ Muncie .12″ Lafayette .05″ Indianapolis Totals should be higher from the next area of low pressure, which will bring shower and storm chances starting Friday morning around Lafayette and Friday afternoon into the rest of Central Indiana. Chances continue until Saturday evening. WIKI-POTEETIA: Indy tied the all-time record number of consecutive days of below 80 in July. Yesterday was day number eight. This last occurred in 1871. More comparisons? Last July Richmond made it to 90 or hotter 19 times. This year? Four times. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 84 and the average low is 65. Records are 97 and 53. The sun rises at 6:44 and sets at 8:58. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 77. My forecast was 77. DETAILED INDIANAPOLIS FORECAST: Today: Morning fog, then partly to mostly sunny.
