When I decided to go 100 percent free-lance two years ago I obviously couldn’t be “WXXX meteorologist Paul Poteet” anymore. I was going to have to live or die on my own weather identity. I decided to call myself “Indiana’s Weatherman” because I no longer belonged to just one tv weather brand…I belonged to everyone because I belonged to no one. Does that make sense? The next step was to try and broaden the number of places in Indiana that you could hear this so-called Indiana’s Weatherman.
I was lucky enough to partner with 95.3 MNC in South Bend and 479xx.com in Lafayette, and hold WQME in Anderson, WXXC in Muncie/Marion, and of course WZPL Indianapolis. Now I’m happy to announce my newest radio partner: Q102, a big 100,000 watt station with a huge coverage area. The QMix reaches Evansville and all of southern Indiana. I’ll also be heard in western and southwestern Kentucky including Owensboro, Henderson, Bowling Green and Madisonville, KY. And Southern Illinois too!
I debut February 1st along with “Beej & The Breakfast Bunch.” The morning show is hosted by Brian Jackson, an Evansville icon who has successfully done audio, video, and marketing. I think I can work with a guy like that.
