Two storm systems will be players on the big travel day next week. One will be moving up the East Coast and cause disruptions in the big cities. One will be moving through the Great Lakes states and should brush Indiana with some light accumulations Wednesday evening and overnight into very early Thanksgiving morning. An inch or less is expected. It will drag a cold front through and wind chills by Drumstick Dash-time Thursday morning in Broad Ripple will be in the upper teens to around 20.
Potential snowfall by Thursday.
This goes out to a week from Tuesday.
Almost all of the country east of the Rockies will be below average with respect to temperature.
Here’s the map for Wednesday afternoon. The storm moving up the East Coast is likely to snarl traffic to and from all the big city airports. Rain will change to snow in NYC during the afternoon Wednesday. Nice timing!
Gonna be nasty at Macy’s Thanksgiving morning. We switch here to computer model output that isn’t color coded, but rest assured – that’s white stuff in the northeast.
Wind chills Thanksgiving morning around here. They’ll be just a touch milder at Macy’s. (Low to mid 20s.)
