PLOT TWIST: It won’t be as hot today north of Indy. (Although it will still be above average.) Look at this temperature spread.
Credit a cold front sinking southward. The wind shifts to the north today as it passes and pulls in dramatically different dew points. Humidity will fall this afternoon, and it will be more comfortable tonight and Monday. (It returns Monday evening.)
The IndyCar race postponed by rain in Texas yesterday still faces a threat of showers and storms when it goes this afternoon. Short term modeling shows the biggest threat in the mid to late afternoon.
