Have to add another inch to the previously posted snow forecast:
3:30am
Up to 7 inches of snow could accumulate right along the I-70 corridor, so the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning (we’re ovr the 6″ threshold) for those areas.
8:45pm
the Indy Airport has 0.4 inches so far.
7PM
There are some flurries around central Indiana now, and light snow has begun in Terre Haute. This is the computer projection of the storm’s evolution through Sunday morning. (Click to enlarge.)
My hunch is that most will be along the higher side of these ranges.
Here are the latest NWS forecasts around the region.
Winter Weather Advisories are in place throughout the Midwest along the path of the storm.
You get a break Monday, and then warmer air starts flowing into the area above a cold, freshly-snow-packed surface. That sets the stage for freezing rain after midnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. Surface temps will also start warming and precipitation should be all rain by late morning or early afternoon. Rain could be heavy Tuesday night, with temps in the 40s! One to two inches of rain is possible. Flooding is a threat, considering how quickly it arrives after Sunday’s snow. Colder air is back Wednesday. Rain will end in the morning, exiting with a little snow as temps fall through the 30s.]]>
