This is the part of the state under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9pm this evening. The biggest threats are from winds gusting to 70 mph and isolated large hail. Storms will increase in coverage along a cold front that is just entering the western suburbs of Chicago as the watch is being issued in mid afternoon. The best upper air support for severe weather remains in the northern third of the state, but strong storms are still possible in central Indiana this evening. Track them here.
It doesn’t appear the biggest storms will hit the Indy Metro area until after 8pm this evening.
