Honey! I shrunk the temperatures! High temps should stay in the 70s from I-70 northward. It should still get to the low 80s in Bloomington and Columbus. A brief and random shower is possible – mainly this afternoon – as one final wave ripples through our upper atmosphere. The best chance is Indy northward. Expect a mix of clouds and sun, with the clouds winning for awhile later in the afternoon into the early evening. Winds will also get gusty.
And then: free-falling into the fifties! You’ll wake up Thursday to the coolest temperatures since the first half of June. By the way: June’s average temperature in Indy ended up being 0.7 degrees above average. Nothing major, but it was the warmest month, relative to normal, since last September.
The Fourth is will be nasty along the East Coast, but spectacular here. Two years ago the the Independence Day high was 102 and the low was 75. This year: a HIGH in the mid 70s.
