I feel like I’m slacking if I just write “partly cloudy,” but that’s about it for today – at least after some patchy morning fog. Temps will be pretty close to average.
It’s been a busy month. We’ve finished 25 days of it so far. There’s been measurable precipitation in Indy on 14 of them. It’s 13 days worth in Lafayette and Muncie. Typically at this point in June the monthly rainfall total would be around 3.50-3.75 inches. We are way past that.
JUNE RAIN SO FAR
6.83″ Terre Haute
6.23″ Indianapolis
5.30″ Muncie
5.29″ Richmond
4.57″ Bloomington
4.45″ Lafayette
There’s going to be a LOT of folks bringing those extra tomatoes from the garden into the office this Summer.
We could add another half-inch to three-quarters inch of precipitation over the weekend, with a fresh push of warmer and more humid air. That could start as early as Friday afternoon around Terre Haute and Bloomington, but for most the best chance will be Saturday. Scattered storms are possible at any point in the day. Blame upper level low pressure moving in. It drags a currently stationary front in southwest Indiana northward across the state as a warm front Saturday. Chances Sunday are smaller – confined to some pop-up storms in the afternoon and early evening. I better enjoy slacking while I can.
