It’s a mix of sun and clouds today. And – if you’re in Downtown Indy – a mix of shortcake and ice cream. Weather should be fine for the annual Strawberry Festival.
All the crops have been watered well lately. These are rain totals so far in June:
5.41″ Terre Haute
4.04″ Muncie
3.63″ Indy
3.18″ Lafayette
These are numbers at least twice the average. And a little more is on the way! A cold front arriving tonight brings rain chances, although a quarter-inch or less is all I expect. The shower chance starts by late afternoon and early evening in Lafayette, and should hit the heart of central Indiana by mid to late evening, and roll into Muncie and Richmond by late evening and overnight.
Behind that front: a decrease in clouds and humidity Friday. NICE. By early Saturday morning the temps could fall to the upper 40s around Muncie. We will quickly recover with nearly full sunshine Saturday and highs around 80.
The heat will increase Sunday, and the humidity follows Sunday night. Next work week is looking hot and humid, with daily storm chances popping. Should be a good year for a tomato festival, right?
INDY ALMANAC:
