It’s a new month, but the same old wintry weather is ready to March into the state.
Snow arrives tonight, with the possibility of sleet mixing in. A couple of inches could be on the ground by Sunday morning.
The snow will continue, and be heaviest Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Sleet & freezing rain will mix in from around the I-70 corridor southward. Precipitation will be all snow from around Lafayette to Kokomo to Marion. Drier air may work into the northern third of the state, so totals may only be 3-6 inches around Lafayette and Kokomo and Muncie. Around the Indy Metro area, snow and sleet totals will range from 6-10 inches, with 3-7 inches falling south of Terre Haute to Greensburg. Those are places that will see more freezing rain and sleet.
All of Indiana will switch to snow by late Sunday night.
It looks as if all of the snow will exit by early Monday.
Temps will drop to near zero yet again by early Tuesday.
