Indianapolis Air Show organizers plan to go forward with scheduled performances and activities today. If you purchased tickets for Saturday you can use them today. BTW: I don’t think you’ll have to worry about storms again until late this afternoon and this evening, so go see the show!
The air show was canceled Saturday, due to heavy rainfall that created unsafe conditions in the parking areas from heavy rain late Friday night, and low ceilings that led to unsafe conditions for the aerial performers. It was the first cancellation in the show’s history.
According to Bob Duncan, chairperson of this year’s charitable event, a temporary road has been built that will allow event-goers to utilize one of the airport’s runways and taxiways for parking.
“We sincerely regret that the Indianapolis Air Show had to be canceled…but it was a matter of safety on the ground and in the air,” Duncan said. “We’ve worked hard…to ensure that everything is ready to go for Sunday – the last day for the air show – and we look forward to wowing big crowds with high-flying performances, exhibits, food and plenty of fun.”
