The Wind Chill Advisory goes until Noon. Chills will sink to -25 at times.
UNOFFICIAL MORNING LOWS
-5 Richmond
-4 Lafayette
-4 Muncie
-3 Indianapolis
-1 Terre Haute
-1 Bloomington
The wind will ease somewhat by afternoon, and it won’t be as breezy tonight, but it will be even colder, with lows from 5 to 10 below zero by Friday morning.
The wind will increase Friday afternoon and evening, gusting at times to 40 mph. That’ll be a problem, with another round of accumulating snow arriving late Friday evening into Saturday morning. Another two or three inches looks likely, along with blowing and drifting.
Yet another round of snow still looks likely Sunday, and once again the potential is there for one to three inches. And temporarily mild temperatures this weekend will be followed by yet another Arctic intrusion Monday, as we take another Polar Plunge.
Last night’s Arctic front arrived with a bang. A thin line of gusty snow squalls brought visibilities down to zero, and put down a quick half-inch to inch of snow. Brownsburg reported a 50 mph gust Thursday evening.
Indy picked up a half-inch of snow. That’s 33.8 inches for the season, and (with the expected weekend snow) means we’re almost certain to have the snowiest month ever on record.
