Feel like you’ve seen this movie before? A weather systems zips in from the northwest and exits quickly to the east. Entrenched low pressure to our north keeps spawning snowy sequels that are Fast – but not Furious. Lake Effect could give northern Indiana up to 7 inches today, but most of central Indiana north and northeast of Indy will just get around an inch or two. Near Indianapolis and Lafayette the totals will be closer to an inch. South and southwest of Indy there could be rain wrapping into the system by afternoon, and just a dusting is possible. The evening will settle down, and just some flurries are in the forecast Tuesday. Wednesday looks good. Thursday brings a slight rain chance. Lafayette and Muncie might see some snow or sleet mixed in with that, and the next system is just plain rain by Sunday. It’s gonna snow in Chicago today and it did last week. TA DA. More than an inch of snow fell in Friday, ending the city’s 335-day streak of no more than an inch of snow accumulation in one day. Evansville’s little bit of weekend snow moved the season total to 11.8 inches. This time last year? Not even an inch. Seasonal total in Indy is 18.9 inches, just a little ahead of the 17.4 inch average and way ahead of last year’s 6.9 inches at this point.
