Iroquois River at Iroquois affecting Newton and Iroquois Counties.
* WHAT…Flooding is possible.
* WHERE…Iroquois River from near US-41 downstream to confluence
with Sugar Creek at Watseka, including the Iroquois gauge.
* WHEN…From Wednesday afternoon until further notice.
* IMPACTS…At 18.0 feet, Agricultural areas near the river begin to
flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.5 feet.
– Forecast…The river will continue to rise over the next few
days with a cr above flood stage near 19 feet possible by
Thursday.
– Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but
not yet certain, based upon the lat forecasts. Persons along
rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the lat
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.
