Kankakee River at Davis affecting St. Joseph, Starke and La Porte
Counties.
.Rises on area rivers occurred as a result of recent rainfall.
For the Kankakee River…including Davis…Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Kankakee River at Davis.
* WHEN…From Tuesday morning to early Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS…At 11.0 feet, Flooding of secondary roads near the river
begins.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:00 PM Monday /9:00 PM CDT Monday/ the stage was 9.2
feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow morning to a cr of 11.5 feet Wednesday
evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday
morning.
– Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Be ely cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
