HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Fort Wayne, Marion, Huntington, New Haven, Garrett, Gas City, Upland,
Ossian, Fairmount, Huntertown, Churubusco, Jonesboro, Sweetser,
Andrews, Markle, Grabill, Swayzee, La Fontaine, Van Buren, and St.
Joe.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 469 between mile markers 0 and 17, and between mile
markers 19 and 30.
Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 253 and 327.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 PM for
central, north central and northeastern Indiana.
