Wind chills will finally get past zero today, ending more than 72 consecutive hours of sub-zero chills across central Indiana. It’s one of the longest stretches in Indy history. The Blizzard of ’78 (of course!) tied for the longest stretch, with 103 hours. Some of the worst chills in this stretch: -31 in Lafayette, -27 in Indy, and -26 in Muncie.
The story shifts from the temps to the snow Thursday and Friday. A little bit of snow Thursday morning, then the main event Thursday evening into Friday morning.
