Snow showers continue today, especially north of Indy, where another inch or two is possible, and a Winter Weather Advisory continues until 1pm. There was 1.70″ of precipitation at Indy yesterday, most of it (obviously) (thankfully) falling as rain.
As expected, the heaviest snow fell to the northwest. There was a report of a foot in Rensselaer, and half a foot around Lafayette.

The amounts cut off sharply and quickly to the south and southeast. Indy only had 0.6 inches as of Midnight. (UPDATE: Official number from Indy as of 7:30am: just 0.8 inches of snow. The NE side observer did report 2.5. A lot has melted…temp stays around 32 today.)
Yesterday’s rain (and snow northwest) was driven by deep, intense low pressure finally heading out to sea today. It produced killer storms in the South. Here are the Storm Prediction Center reports from Tuesday and Wednesday.
