We should be finished with precipitation for the day (and for the year.) Overcast skies will linger today, and if the sun does show it would probably not happen until just before sunset anyway. Northwest winds around 10 mph will yield chills in the 20s.
The biggest Saturday rain fell in southern Indiana. Totals through 10pm yesterday:
.44″ Bloomington
.25″ Terre Haute
.18″ Indianapolis
.16″ Muncie
.12″ Lafayette
.04″ South Bend
Since there’s no more precip in the forecast until Friday we can make some observations:
*The year-to-date rain totals will be around 41 1/2 inches, not too far off the average of around 42 inches.
*The snow total as of late Saturday night was still just .1″ and that’s the lowest December total since 1941.
Even with a cool-down coming Tuesday I think we’ll finish December with above-average temps, for the first month since June. Yay.
Sprawling high pressure will slide out of Canada and into the Plains much of next week. Here’s the Monday map:
INDY ALMANAC
The average high today is 36 and the average low is 22. Records are 65 and -13. The sun rises at 8:05 and sets at 5:28.
