Here come the clouds! We’ve got warmer air above moving in that will trap moisture in the lower levels, and so I think today will start with fog and segue into stratus. Lots of clouds in the late morning through afternoon, and temps again generally in the 30s. Morning wind chills are in the teens.
I know, there’s a big ol’ high pressure system on the surface chart…
So what’s up? It’s a DIRTY HIGH, baby! Sometimes things just get inverted.
There are some indications the inversion could break for awhile tomorrow, but Sunday definitely looks mostly cloudy. It will, however, be a little above average this weekend, and we’re still not shoveling anything. Here (via weatherbell.com) is the modeled snow depth today…
Indy hasn’t seen measurable snow since Thanksgiving Day. Speaking of holidays: don’t give up on the White Christmas around here. A storm will move through next weekend. The exact track is still wobbly, but it looks to be a little more favorable for snow.
That’s certainly not the case with our very next storm, which contains the remnants of the big rains from out West. That gets here Monday, and is largely gone by Tuesday, and it is indeed a rain thing. Less than a quarter of an inch around here. (A few snow showers could mix in by Tuesday afternoon.)
INDY ALMANAC
