The warmest day in three and a half weeks is in the Indy forecast for today. It will also be the fourth consecutive day of above average temperatures, in a month where temperatures have been averaging below normal.
We’ll be back to those colder numbers starting Wednesday. The first widespread sub-freezing temperatures of the season are expected Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Today won’t be as completely clear, but it will be warmer. The Weather Service crunched the numbers and notes that if Indy hits 80, it would be the latest 80 degree day in 15 years. We’re in the warm sector between a warm front and a cold front arriving tomorrow.
The biggest chance of rain this week comes Tuesday morning. Some thunder is also possible.
The chance will diminish from west to east during the afternoon and be gone by Tuesday Night.
What happens behind the cold front? Well, the first map illustrates temps this afternoon. The second one shows what’s ahead by Wednesday.
Another cold front could trigger a few showers or sprinkles Thursday night, and it brings a colder Halloween.
TRICK-OR-TREAT TEMPS:
They will fall from around 50 to 45 between 4 and 8pm Friday. No precip is expected. This should end up being the first completely snow-less October in Indy in three years. We’d already had two traces of snow by this time last year.
