Mrs. Poteet wanted some moisture on her mums, and there was a little Saturday evening and overnight. The biggest rainfall totals and wind gusts were in the northern third of the state. Lafayette got over an inch of rain, and winds gusted to 70 mph farther north. Click here for a map.
The rain in front of the cold front is now gone, but clouds may linger for a bit early Sunday, but most of the day will be partly sunny. Winds behind that front have switched to the northwest and will gust up to 25 mph today as cold air pours in again from Canada.
If your mums didn’t get it last night, you’re outta luck until at least Sunday. The upper air pattern will feature a huge ridge over most of the country helping to provide plenty of sunshine for the work week. High pressure at the surface will move from South Dakota today to right over Indiana Tuesday. As it moves on to the east temps will go back to near or slightly-above average temperatures Wednesday through the weekend.
