Oh no! It’s the blue triangles! They move through the state Thursday morning, and are shown on this 8am weather chart. Those triangles are a cold front, and ahead of said front, a few sprinkles or light showers will be possible. The Indianapolis Airport reported a shower at 5am, and clouds most of the night.
Those clouds helped hold temps from falling much, but high pressure moves over the state tonight. It will be clear and chilly, Friday morning lows hit the 40s north and east of Indy.
That’s about halfway between a record low and an average low for Indianapolis.
On Wednesday evening I posted on social media about the song (or noise, depending on your point of view) of cicadas.
Windows open? You're hearing the male cicada, who moves abdominal muscles to create That Sound to attract the ladies. #DoesntWorkForHumans

So often the past month I think that noise is the best reminder we are still in the thick of summer. But I’m not complaining about taking advantage of natural air conditioning. August is almost halfway gone, and the only two days above average in Indy so far were last Saturday and Sunday. And our next warm up comes this weekend. We should get to 80+ every day from Saturday through Wednesday, although Monday may be close. That’s the day with the best storm chance.
Saturday’s chance is slight, but could come at any time during the day. Chances overall Sunday are a little stronger.
