It seems odd that I’m writing “warmer” for a mid August forecast, and it translates to a high in the mid to upper 70s, but that’s the central Indiana story today. The wind won’t be as stiff as it was yesterday, when the peak gust in Indy hit 27 mph. Today’s breeze from the northwest should run 7-12 mph.
Yesterday’s rain was little more than a mist. Here are the totals for the day, and for August so far:
trace Indianapolis (0.27 for the month)
.00″ Terre Haute (0.88 for the month)
.00″ Bloomington (0.56 for the month)
.03″ Lafayette (1.23 for the month)
.03″ Muncie (0.60 for the month)
Every station is below normal for the month, although Lafayette is close to being even.
Unfortunately the next best rain chances will arrive this weekend. Storms are possible from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday, with the best chance for the moment on Monday. Up to an inch of rain could fall in some spots.
