Fog hogged the Wednesday morning spotlight. Most of the day will be partly to mostly cloudy and dry. A stationary front has settled to the south of Indianapolis, and should stay there for the next couple of days.
There will be a wave of surface low pressure that moves along the front (and along I-70) from around Kansas City Thursday night to St. Louis Friday morning. That – combined with a corresponding upper level wave – represents our biggest rain chances over the the next few days. The best chances and the biggest totals are likely to be in central and southern Indiana. After an inch-plus of rain yesterday, the South Bend area may not see any again until Monday.
Weather looks fine for the Indy Eleven tonight.

The Colts kick off the preseason tomorrow in New York, with partly cloudy weather and temps in the upper 70s at kickoff sliding down to the low 70s by the end of the game.
Death Valley shattered its all-time record for coolest August 3 high temperature. The high temperature at Death Valley reached only 89 degrees Sunday, which was 33 degrees cooler than normal for August 3 and 15 degrees cooler than the previous record minimum high temperature of 104 degrees. Stop and re-read it. That record MINIMUM high was 104. Death Valley at its lowest point is the lowest elevation in North America.
