You get a couple of shots at showers today. The first batch in the early morning and another chance in the afternoon and early evening. A frontal system is sagging slowly southward today. You’ll notice a difference tomorrow, with temps a few degrees lower, and winds from the north.
The weather giveth and taketh away: Wednesday is now looking dry, and Thursday is now looking wet. The increasing chance Thursday is pegged to an upper level wave in the area. The best chances Thursday may not come until evening and overnight into very early Friday.
The wild card match? A deep area of low pressure to the south Friday and Saturday. At the moment it appears the solid shield of showers from this system will be too far south by Saturday to cause showers from Indy northward, but Columbus and Bloomington may get wet.
WIKI-POTEETIA: Still no 90s anytime soon for Indy. There weren’t any 90 degree days in the year 2004. Excluding that, only 3 years have seen the 1st 90 degree day in Aug. or later: 1960, 1979, 2000.
P.S. @NWSIndianapolis notes that “7 months ago today Indianapolis saw the 2nd highest calendar day snowfall since records began, 11.4 inches.”
