Mister Weatherman is just sitting around waiting for the numbers to get bigger down the road. I call it the Lance Stephenson weather pattern.
Morning low temps once again flirted with forty. It was down to 50 with dense fog in Lafayette. One more night of the real chill deal is ahead, and a warm up starts tomorrow but we still won’t be above average on high temperatures until next week.
Today’s weather will be a lot like yesterday, with self-destructing sunshine. Puffy cumulus clouds could yield a few isolated sprinkles or light showers in the afternoon.
My farming friends in the fields tell me they could use a few dry days. Casual gardeners and lawn mowers may have noticed the rain has slowed since June, notwithstanding what we had Monday. If you count from June 1st we are 1.34 inches above average. If you just count July then we are 1.45 inches behind.
I’m putting a slight shower/storm chance in the forecast for Sunday through Tuesday, but confidence is medium at best at this point. It definitely will be warmer next week.
