Thursday began with some fabulous fifties across the state, and will finish with highs around 77 in Muncie and 78 in Lafayette and Richmond. It should hit 80 in Columbus and Indy, and 81 in Terre Haute and Bloomington.
Humidity is still on hold. It will increase later Friday afternoon with the approach of a warm front. One batch of showers and storms may accompany that front after midnight into early Saturday morning. We’ll probably crack the clouds during the day Saturday, with some sticky sunshine and a return to normal temperatures.
Another round of showers and storms could strike later afternoon Saturday into Saturday night. The Storm Prediction Center has much of central Indiana under a slight risk of severe weather Saturday.
Expect a couple rounds of rain Sunday, and it will be muggy again. The shower and storm chance will be smaller during the day Monday, but the arrival of a cold front Monday night will mean storms are likely.
After that front? Welcome to Fall! Most of next week will be dry and pleasant. One of the computer models is spitting out 60s for highs a few days next week in Lafayette and Muncie. I think we’re still almost two weeks away from any possible stretch of above normal temperatures.
