Hey–somebody woke up the weather! As expected there were a few light showers overnight into Sunday morning. Amounts were less than a tenth of an inch. That wave will exit by Sunday brunch-time.
High temperatures also return to normal today. Indy and Lafayette haven’t officially made it to 80 degrees since the first day of July. Muncie and Bloomington did reach 80 yesterday. All of central Indiana will see the low to mid 80s today, and the upper 80s tomorrow. The heat won’t hold. We should be back under average by mid-week.
Humidity also returns tonight, and it will be a muggy Monday. The Storm Prediction Center has the southern half of the state under a slight risk for severe weather Monday afternoon and evening, ahead of a slow, southward-moving cold front.
Showers and storms are likely Tuesday from one more wave behind that front, but the sun is back Wednesday through Friday, along with comfortable temps. The early world on next weekend is hot and humid, with storm chances.
