Overnight showers and storms rolled through parts of the state, dumping two inches of rain in Northern Randolph County, and prompting an early morning flood warning. The storms have been firing along a stationary front in northern Indiana.
The best chance in the morning will continue to be just to the northeast and east of Indy. The rain may last well into the morning around Richmond. As the front wiggles a little this afternoon and evening the chance will spread statewide. In fact, several periods of showers and storms look likely Friday throughout the day, with the activity diminishing toward Friday night.
Rain totals since Wednesday morning:
1.15″ Indianapolis
0.59″ Muncie
0.30″ Lafayette
Trace Terre Haute
I continue to think Saturday will be dry, and I now think the same for Sunday and Monday. The above average temperatures will continue until a cleansing cold front Tuesday, bringing rain and then below average temps Wednesday.
BTW–still no 90s for Indy, which stopped at 88 both Tuesday and Wednesday. Same for Lafayette, which peaked at 89 both days. Muncie, Terre Haute, and Bloomington have all reached 90 or higher this week.
