Sorry, Mom – there’s a slight risk of severe storms this afternoon and evening across central Indiana, as a front marches back to the north bringing warmer air that is more moist and more prone to instability with some late morning and midday sunshine.
Could be worse, mama. A moderate risk for severe weather is highlighted across much of Iowa, into southeastern Nebraska and northern Kansas. And then, farther west: up to a foot of snow later today in Denver!
A round of early morning storms brought .51″ of rain to Terre Haute, 26″ to Indy, .14″ to Lafayette, and only .03″ to Muncie.
That cooler air is headed our way. Not *that* bad, but highs will only be in the upper 50s to around 60 the second half of this week. After today’s storm chances, Monday should just be hot and partly sunny. The cold front arrives with periods of storms Tuesday and then a second wave will bring showers Wednesday. Chances of showers linger into Friday. At least next weekend is looking dry for Qualifications at the Track. (ANOTHER nice Saturday? Looks like it.)
