Small amounts of hail and large amounts of lightning were the first thing many Hoosier noticed about today’s weather. Nasty weather will continue through most of Thursday. The Flood Watch for central Indiana continues through 8am Friday. The rain may pause late in the afternoon and early in the evening before a final cold front crashes this mild and wild party Friday morning.
The Storm Prediction Center has much of the state under a slight risk for severe weather. I think the biggest threat will be for damaging winds late tonight and early Friday. Up to another two inches of rain may fall. Some places were already well past an inch by 6am Thursday:
1.42″ Bloomington
1.38″ Terre Haute
0.70″ Muncie
0.57″ Indianapolis
0.55″ Lafayette
I’m still expecting a cooler, drier weekend. Unfortunately, temperatures are back to below average for about a week. So much for Spring Break!
