Relentless. That is my favorite word for this Winter, held over by nobody’s popular demand. Our current cold snap began over the weekend, and it doesn’t show signs of stopping, at least ’til the 50s start popping Thursday.
At least we’ll see some sun in the morning, followed by afternoon clouds. Expect highs in the mid to upper 30s from Indy northward, and upper 30s to around 40 south of I-70.
A quick clipper brings an inch or less of snow late tonight and very early Tuesday. Snow showers or flurries could linger through the day tomorrow. That’s followed by the biggest dip yet of our latest cold cycle. It will be in the teens Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Easily 20 degrees below average, but not cold enough for a record, which is 8 degrees in Indy for Wednesday morning.
A big warmup should put us to nearly normal temperatures again by Friday and Saturday. A streak of 60s should begin Sunday. Our longest streak of 60+ weather so far this year is two measly days.
WIKI-POTEETIA:
A chuck of ice has finally broken up in Lake Michigan around Gary and Chicago. That allowed the return of some Lake Effect snow showers yesterday that almost reached Lafayette.
