Two St. Patrick’s Days ago, in the Super-Bowl, Super-Warm year of 2012, Indy set a record high of 77. Nothing like that is shamrock-shaking today. Still: it’s gets better than yesterday, at least, after a bitterly cold morning drive.
Morning winds will run about 5-15 mph, yielding single digit wind chills. The wind will be lighter, and turning more easterly by midday and afternoon. You should still be ready for chills in the 20s if you’re going to the parade downtown. At least the sun’s back today.
The clouds and winds will start increasing again later Tuesday, but so will the temperatures. It’s one of two above-average days this work week. Rain chances begin after midnight Tuesday into mainly Wednesday morning. That system exits and Thursday looks sweet. Then: another rain chance Friday, and then the weekend is cooler but drama-free.
The weather DOES get dramatic around here, and this is the week to plan for the worst of Spring. Severe Weather Preparedness Week means the annual statewide tornado test drill. It happens Thursday between 10:15 AM – 10:30 AM and 7:30 PM – 7:45 PM.
WIKI-POTEETIA:
