Our latest, much-discussed snow storm *seems* like it’s already been around for a week, but It actually doesn’t kick in until this afternoon. Low pressure early Tuesday is organizing to the southwest and will pull from the Gulf of Mexico on the way to Kentucky. For us: that means snow.
The Winter Storm Warning from the NWS is unchanged, as is the basic forecast. The Warning begins at 1pm. The chance of snow begins after lunch, and then it becomes likely by late afternoon. It will moves in from the west and southwest. Snow will be heaviest tonight. Snow should end by midday Wednesday. Sleet and freezing rain may mix in to the southeast. The Indianapolis total should be 6-9 inches. North of Indy: 7-10 inches. Places like Bloomington and Columbus will see 4-7 inches.
The highest available moisture still looks to be to our north and east. The sleet and freezing rain would cut into the totals to the southeast, but places northeast of Indy may have the best shot at ten inches of just plain snow. I’m looking at you, Muncie and Richmond!
