First the good news: rain totals were generally under half an inch. There was concern that totals approaching an inch, combined with around an inch of “locked-up moisture” in the snow pack could cause widespread flooding, which is now unlikely to happen.
UNOFFICIAL RAIN TOTALS THROUGH 7AM:
.52″ Bloomington
.48″ Terre Haute
.36″ Lafayette
.35″ Indianapolis
.23″ Muncie
Fog IS happening, and a Dense Fog Advisory was in place earlier.
As expected, temps rolled up to the low 40s overnight, but will fall back around freezing but noon. Temps should stay right around freezing through the afternoon, with lots of clouds and chills in the 20s. There will be some patchy snow and rain showers, with flurries possible this afternoon.
Lots of up-and-down in the weather over the next week. Tomorrow is one of the up days, so that’s good weekend timing. We’ll have some more hours above freezing, hitting the low 40s in Indy.
Monday is also mild, with a slight shower chance from around Richmond down to Seymour and southeastward.
A clipper puts an end to all that later Tuesday. Central Indiana might see an inch or two of snow Tuesday night and Wednesday, and up to three inches is possible up around Lafayette and Muncie.
Temps tank behind that system, with only the 20s during the day Wednesday and down to the teens Wednesday night.
But: back up again, for a day Thursday, before another system Friday brings colder air and some flurries.
