Central Indiana starts Sunday squeezed between two surface low pressure systems and under an upper level wave, all generally moving northeast. Biggest trouble today comes closest to the lows, so a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Richmond down to Connersville and Brookville, and points eastward into Ohio until late tonight. The Indiana counties involved could pick up a little less than an inch of snow, along with some freezing rain. For most of Indiana, including Indianapolis, Muncie, Lafayette, and Bloomington: just some light snow in the morning, and a chance of freezing drizzle and light snow in the afternoon and evening. Northwest Indiana over toward South Bend could also accumulate up to an inch of snow. This will all be history in central Indiana by late tonight. The next closest system will bring a chance of very light snow to the southern third of the state late Monday night. The clouds from that upper level wave should keep central Indiana out of single digits again until early Wednesday and Thursday morning. I still think we are unlikely to crack the freezing mark until Friday. Next weekend looks unsettled on Saturday, but I haven’t settled yet on what’s going to unsettle us – rain or snow are both possible at this point.
