Halfway there! The well-advertised “pause in the precipitation” occurs early to mid morning today, followed by another batch of accumulating snow. (Ignore me if you live in Lafayette or Kokomo.) 9:30 Update: Updated reports via NWS Indy: 7″ Ellettsville (Monroe County) 5″ Columbus 5″ Bloomington 5″ New Whiteland IN 3.5″ Rushville 3″ Terre Haute 2.5 New Castle (INDY is holding at 3.8″) Early morning snow totals: 5.3″ Knox County, southern Indiana 3.8″ NWS Indianapolis 3.3″ Anderson 3.0″ Lawrence 2.8″ Castleton <1″ Lafayette All signs continue to point to a Big Diff on snow totals from northwest to southeast (lower to higher) in central Indiana by Friday evening. I still think 4-7 inches is likely in the Indy Metro area, with the south and southeast sides on the higher end. There is a general area of 4 inch snowfall on the ground around Indy this morning, with the second wave kicking in through the late morning and afternoon, ending this evening. Temps will be in the 20s, and winds could be a factor by afternoon on some east/west roads, as a north breeze gusts to 25 mph. Chills tonight will fall below zero as the temp itself falls to about 10. Sunshine Saturday, and one more wave Sunday, which could bring light snow along with some sleet and/or freezing rain mixed in. Next work week is quiet, but never goes above freezing.
