An Arctic Cold Front will slide down our weather chimney this afternoon, and bringing a little snow tonight and a lot of temps in the teens by early Wednesday morning. The front begins Monday still draped from Wisconsin over Michigan. Your morning trip will be fine, but the front will hit Indy by the afternoon rush hours. Most precipitation will be around and a little behind the front. That precip will mix with and change over to snow early this evening. Up to about an inch is possible tonight. The fast moving front should be out of your way by Tuesday morning rush hour, but you’ll start with temps in the low 20s, and there could be a few flurries or snow showers tomorrow, and the first big Lake Effect snow of the season is likely just west of South Bend, where up to 7 inches could accumulate by Tuesday afternoon. The sky clears, the wind drops, and with even a little bit of fresh powder – the state is set for temps to tumble Tuesday night. Expect teens outside of Indy, and right around 20 in the city. No records are in danger Wednesday morning. The current record low is 10, from 1986. Highs will be in the 30s again Wednesday, but quickly warm to the 40s Thursday and 50s by Friday. I’ve got rain chances in the forecast Friday, and again Saturday night through Sunday. (Just rain!) INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 55 and the average low is 37. Records are 76 and 18. The sunrise time is 7:25 and the sun sets tonight at 5:33. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 48. My forecast was 51.
