Yesterday morning brought the first sub-freezing temp of the Fall. Today: the first snowfall. My Twitter and Facebook timelines quickly accumulated reports around 3 am this morning, with friends and followers mentioning a little snow on the grass in Kokomo, Marion, Anderson, Muncie, and Indianapolis. The upper level low was right over Indianapolis about 1am, and continues to move away to the east. Rain and snow showers are still possible through the morning drive east and southeast of Indy, including Richmond. The next chance of central Indiana precipitation is Wednesday mid to late morning rain and snow showers drifting down from around Lake Michigan. That could happen from around Kokomo to Muncie southward to about Anderson. Another wave is passing through tonight, but it now appears to stay well south of the area. Therefore: a dry forecast tonight through Monday. The weather headlines will return to temperatures tonight and tomorrow. A freeze watch is in place for parts of central Indiana both Thursday and Friday morning. The watch is not in effect to the the west and northwest (including Lafayette) because Tuesday morning’s hard freeze has already ended the growing season. Temps will at least bounce back the 50s this weekend, even passing 60 next week. INDY ALMANAC: Today’s average high is 63 and the average low is 43. Records are 86 and 24. The sun rises at 8:04 and it sets at 6:54. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 50. My forecast was 52. DETAILED INDIANAPOLIS FORECAST: Today: Partly sunny. Early morning chance of rain showers to the east/southeast of Indy, mixed with a few snow flakes. High 47. Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 30. Thursday: Mostly to partly cloudy morning. Partly sunny afternoon. High 47. Thursday Night: Clearing and cold. Low 27. Friday: Mostly sunny. High 48. Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 34. Saturday: Partly cloudy. High 56. Saturday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 35. Sunday: Mostly sunny. High 52. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 37. Monday: Partly cloudy. High 61. Monday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 44. Tuesday: Good chance of showers. High 63. ]]>
