Finish strong! A wonderful work week rolls on with only some patches of Friday fog at first. Bloomington visibility may stay below a mile until after sunrise. And how about that sun? There’s little to stop it again today, with high pressure at the surface and above us. There is a “partial sunshine shutdown” coming tomorrow, but it will gone by Sunday. The one change in the forecast for the weekend has been to accelerate a weak cold front that looks to arrive by Saturday evening. (It should still be sunny Saturday morning.) The biggest upper air support for this system stays away from Indiana, so a narrow ribbon of rain looks like the best bet. The rain should be less than a tenth of an inch. The most likely time will be from around 3-9pm in Lafayette, 5-11pm in the Indy area, and around 7pm-1am in Muncie. Back to sunshine Sunday, and – even with somewhat cooler temps – we will still be above the average high of 67. There are rain chances next week from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 67 and the average low is 46. Records are 86 and 26. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 74. My forecast was 76.
