A familiar fog will be around Wednesday morning, but there are changes in the weather wind. Temps will continue creeping upward and the afternoon high should be in the low 80s across central Indiana today. We are also back to at least a chance of scattered showers today, under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. An upper air disturbance is moving in from the southwest, so the best chance for that scattered stuff will be Indy southward. The chance of showers will continue tonight and increase tomorrow. Some thunder is possible, but this is mainly a rain thing, with up to a half an inch possible. That’s system number one. Number two doesn’t arrive until Saturday, so I’m scheduling a slice of summer Friday — some sunshine, and highs even hotter, in the mid 80s. A cold front will arrive during the midday and afternoon Saturday, bringing up to an inch of precipitation from showers and storms that should clear our area by Sunday morning. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 71 and the average low is 49. Records are 89 and 29. The sun rises at 7:42 and sets at 7:26. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 77. My forecast was 80. DETAILED INDIANAPOLIS FORECAST: Today: Patches of morning fog again, then partly to mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers possible. High 82.
