An area of high pressure is large and in charge across the Great Lakes, and it will slowly drift eastward through Saturday. That means more blue skies, and a slow-but-sure warming trend for us, if you catch *my* drift. Nighttime temps will be just a little above average, but daytime highs will be 5-10 degrees above normal. So: cook up your own forecast. Take yesterday’s high temperature and add a degree or two. That yields 77 in Richmond, 78 in Muncie, 79 in Lafayette, and around 80 in Indy and Terre Haute. Bloomington should make it into the low 80s.
Next rain chance is still Sunday. It could start right after midnight in west and northwest Indiana, spreading to central Indiana by morning and into southern Indiana by mid-morning. It is unlikely to produce anything beyond about a quarter of an inch of precipitation. There might be some thunder, especially south of Indy.
Most places should be dry again by Sunday evening. The next work week is also looking quite dry and pleasant. The temperature trend will remain above average. If you really want Winter, go West. Or northeast. Upstate New York, Colorado, Montana, and California have all reported the first snows of the season way up there where the air is thin:)
INDY ALMANAC:
The average high today is 73 and the average low is 52. Records are 91 and 37. The sunrise time is 7:37 and the sun sets at 7:35.
PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION:
