Some places had the coldest temperatures in more than four months today. Saturday morning temps were just as cold as anticipated, especially to the north and northeast of Indy:
38 Muncie
38 Marion
39 Kokomo
40 South Bend
40 Terre Haute
41 Lafayette
42 Bloomington
47 Evansville
48 Indy
It was the coldest morning since June 3 in Indianapolis and since May 12 in Muncie. The obvious positive: it all happened under a clear sky, which should persist all day today. It’s really going to look – and feel – like Fall! It won’t be quite as cold tonight, but temperatures won’t go above average again until Wednesday, when a little humidity will return.
The sun should return Sunday morning for your tailgating. Clouds will start increasing by mid afternoon and there’s a slight shower chance by late afternoon. That’s about the time the Colts will be wrapping up. Scattered showers with some embedded thunder are looking likely Sunday night, with clouds from the system lingering into Monday morning. The sun returns Monday afternoon; the storms return Wednesday.
INDY ALMANAC:
Today’s average high is 79 and the average low is 57. Records are 100 and 37. The sun rises at 7:25 and it sets at 7:55.
