Rain comes down in the morning and humidity comes down in the afternoon for Thursday. A slow moving cold front continues a sometimes-soggy slide southward today, generating some welcome rainfall and rumbles of thunder. The shower and storm chance should end by late morning in Lafayette and Kokomo, and by early afternoon in Muncie, Richmond, and Indy. The chance could hang on into mid afternoon around Bloomington and Columbus. No severe weather is expected, although this same system was responsible for scattered wind damage yesterday afternoon in Michigan and northeast Indiana. Yesterday also brought one last gasp of record heat. Indy tied a record from 1897 on Wednesday by reaching 95 degrees in the 3pm hour. South Bend hit 96, also tying a record. INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 79 and the average low is 58. Records are 96 and 40. The sun rises at 7:24 and it sets at 7:58. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION: Yesterday’s high was 95.
