Weather today? No sweat! I think the humidity levels will stay comfortable through Saturday. They will begin to rise again Saturday night. Hot and humid weather is likely for much of next week. Those nasty 90s are not history yet. The 8-14 day outlook is indicating above average temperatures and average precipitation through the middle part of September. A cold front is actually moving southward through the state – but the only effect appears to be a few more clouds compared to yesterday. The front will open up a spread in high temps today. Muncie will hit 80. Lafayette and Richmond should make it to 83. The forecast is 85 in Terre Haute and 87 in Bloomington. The next decent chance of rain and storms doesn’t come until the middle of next week. Meteorologists divide the seasons differently than the calendar. “Summer” runs the months of June, July, and August. The Summer of 2013 in Indy featured an average temperature of 73.6 degrees, according to my number-crunching friends at the Weather Service. The normal summer average temperature is 73.9 degrees, making this summer below normal by 0.3 degrees. Bottom Line? This was the coolest summer since the summer of 2009, when the average temperature was 72.4 degrees. INDY ALMANAC: Today’s average high is 82 and the average low is 61 Records are 100 and 45.
