Over a month! The last 90 degree day was July 23rd. (July 19th in Lafayette and Muncie.) Central Indiana hasn’t seen any 90 degree days yet this month. That’s not a typical August.
Well, brace yourself. It’s about to get *typical* around here. Plus: humidity returns through the day today, and sticks to you through Labor Day Weekend.
A strong upper level ridge will spread to the east today and tomorrow. It’ll wiggle westward a little in the second half of the week, but even then daytime highs will only drop into the upper 80s for some. There might be a few scattered showers and storms in the northeastern quarter of the state Tuesday Night and early Wednesday morning, perhaps reaching Muncie and Richmond. I don’t think Indy’s streak will be broken any time soon. The last time there was measurable rainfall was August 9th.
The weekend brought a beautiful blue sky, with few clouds other than some wispy cirrus at around 25,000 feet. South Bend’s Airport has reported a completely clear sky since Friday morning!
