Another seasonably cool start, another delightful day. Morning temps once again fell to the mid 40s around Muncie. It was also in the mid 40s in Richmond and Bloomington. Lafayette and Terre Haute stayed closer to the upper 40s, in part because of high clouds streaming in from the west. Those clouds will filter, not block the sun today. A gradual warming trend will kick in, with a few more degrees this afternoon relative to yesterday. Most areas should avoid the 40s tonight, and we’ll hit the upper 70s tomorrow. Still no huge weather makers on the horizon. An area of upper level low pressure is expected to hang out down south this weekend. Chances for rain will be higher if you’re rolling on the River near Louisville or Evansville, but we could see showers or storms scattered Sunday in central Indiana. All signs point to warmer and muggier weather in general next week. Today’s the halfway point in August, and the temperature trend so far is keeping hot weather out of the storyline of the Summer Of ’13: AUGUST 1.7 degrees below average JULY 1.5 degrees below average JUNE 0.0 difference INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 84 and the average low is 65.
